Contrary to popular belief, Dr. Clark and Dr. Heller, are NOT actually related. That being said, Dr. Heller cut her professional teeth working as Dr. Clark’s intern, so in day-to-day practice, they might as well be twins.
Dr. Suzie Heller was born and raised in Washington, D.C. While this is what she tells people, it’s not exactly true. She spent the majority of her formative years traveling up and down the east coast as a competitive equestrian. If anyone asks, “were you raised in barn?” the answer is yes, yes she was.
Dr. Heller was first exposed to Chiropractic and Active Release Technique while running cross-country and track in high school, but never considered it as a career at the time. After graduating from Vanderbilt University magna cum laude, she spent two years riding professionally and managing the care of high-level show jumping horses. During this time, she had the opportunity to work with a chiropractor who specialized in both human and equine athletes. Witnessing and feeling the impact that chiropractic care had on these horses inspired her to pursue chiropractic as a career.
Dr. Heller went on to graduate magna cum laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic. She is full body certified in Active Release Technique (ART) and believes that treating soft tissue and treating joints always go hand in hand. In addition to ART, she holds certifications in functional Dry Needling, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (FAKTR), prenatal care (Webster Technique), Rocktape, and is a Level I accredited Workman’s compensation provider.
Dr. Heller’s goal with all her patients is to get them feeling better and doing more within their first few visits. She wants to keep all her patients active and get them back to doing the things they love faster. She believes in an interdisciplinary approach to care and loves working with other medical providers to get to the root cause(s) of patients’ problems in the least invasive way possible.
